My Fellow Blue Caps,
Here we
are 6 months into the child welfare year and we are slowly gaining on our goal,
I know we are all busy getting ready for Veterans day, Thanksgiving and of the
best part of the year Christmas and New Years, as we come into these holidays
this is a perfect time to get the blue cap members involved in doing an event
or dinner for CWF, by getting members involved we strengthen not only the
reason we joined but also the bond between The American Legion Family and our
programs.
Commander
Tommie relayed to me that CWF President Dennis Boland has questioned our
success for this year’s goal of hitting the 4 million mark and the challenge of
Dinner.

Let's see your goal is
$365.000 and as of October 6th the Sons of The American Legion has $66,063.42
in donation to the CWF. That only leaves $298,936.58 or $1,390.41 a day in
donation. Piece of cake.”
He
questioning if we “The Sons of The
American Legion” can hit the 4
Million mark this year…
Well
Here are the facts as of Nov. 4 we are at:
1) $94,461.26 (that is over
$4,000 more than last year)
2) When we hit $332,000 we will hit
the 4 MILLION Mark not $365,000, our goal is $365,000
3) The Piece of Cake will be
what Commander Tommie and his wife Kathy have after dinner. (hehe sorry Dennis
I had to put that in)
4) The best fact is: “We are The
Sons of American Legion” and we are “Dedicated
To the Betterment of All Children”
The
Challenge between Commander Tommie and CWF President Dennis Boland is all in
good fun and in the end we all know who the real winners are The Children we help year after year
As
stated we are 6 months into the Child Welfare year and we stand at just over
$94,000 on our $365,000 goal. Please contact all your regional Commanders and
Detachment Commanders, Adjutant Squadron Commanders and C&Y/CWF chairman
and forward the CWF report and ask for their help this year to achieve the CWF
goal.
